Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan has completed work to amend its constitution and there’s a chance this will be submitted to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) during the present week.

MQM-Pakistan is enrolled with the ECP. Legal experts of MQM have finished consultations in connection with the amendment in the party’s constitution, which has been handed over to the MQM chief in Pakistan Dr Farooq Sattar. Altaf Hussain’s name has been omitted from the party’s constitution.

MQM has made changes in its letterhead also and the name of founder and Quaid-e-Tehreek Altaf Hussain has been removed. Connections with Altaf Hussain happen to be severed in the light of the change in the party’s constitution, and MQM -Pakistan will take decisions on its own.

Dr Farooq Sattar and Khawaja Izharul Hassan will appear on behalf of MQM before the ECP to submit the amended constitution of the party.

Responding to your question whether the MQM workers, MPAs and MNAs will come back to MQM Pakistan, Sattar said they’ll shortly return after their mistakes were cleared. He was speaking to the media at his house in the PIB Colony on Sunday. Sattar said he will hold a press conference today (Monday) which will be entertaining.

“We believe in the supremacy of Pakistan and the judiciary and need to strengthen democracy,” he said.

Dr Farooq Sattar said that with full strength, all local bodies members will work after the oath-taking ceremony and will serve the city with no discrimination.

On the occasion, besides Dr Farooq Sattar, Amir Khan and Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui took all the parliamentarians into confidence and said that nowthey had entirely disowned its policies and London. Besides the parliamentarians, distinct party wings like Labour had assembled and stressed the MQM-Pakistan had no connection with London.

Dr Farooq Sattar also reiterated that now all the policies of MQM-Pakistan will be made in Pakistan, not London. “When we say that we now have disconnected with London, this means that we’re no more in contact with them. Quit doing guess.” All the parliamentarians were taken by him into assurance and said this assembly was held to remove a variety of guesses.

Farooq Sattar reiterated the party’s demand that Nine-Zero should be unsealed shortly. He said that MQM’s political activities should not be interrupted. “Nothing occurs due to one person’s speech,” Sattar said, adding the party would not enable its 38 years of battle go waste.

Sattar said that the party’s mandate and political possession should be accepted. Before, parliament members and MQM’s Principal Executive Committee ’ session went under way under the chairmanship of Farooq Sattar.

Party leaders Amir Khan, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and others attended the CEC session. During the assembly, the nation’s organisational issues and present political scenario were discussed.
