At least 10 people were killed and more than 50 injured today in Pakistan’s Punjab province when explosives carried by an apparent suicide bomber went off after the auto-rickshaw he was traveling in collided with a motorcycle.

The blast occurred in Multan, 350 kilometers, away from capital Lahore.

District Coordination Officer (DCO) Zahid Salim Gondal told journalists that original reports recommend the blast occurred after the explosives maintained by one of the passengers in the auto-rickshaw went down.

“Ball bearings have been recovered from the blast site indicating that it might be a suicide blast. It seems someone in the three-wheeler was carrying explosives and it exploded after hitting the motorcyclist,” he said.

Both the automobiles were not completely damaged after the incident, eliminating their occupants at that moment. As the different cars passing the region were harmed, several nearby outlets caught by fire. Center Emergency Officer (Multan) said at the least 10 people have been killed and 50 others sustained injuries.
