Here is the bargain:  Chris has teamed up with ifOnly.com to raffle off two tickets to the NYC premiere of his new drama In the Heart of the Sea. The prize includes a meet and greet and with Chris at the after party and hanging walking the red carpet with he.

Earnings benefit the Australian Childhood Foundation, an organization that works to save kids from neglect, abuse and family violence.

“My dad worked in child protection for many years,” the Thor star tells me. “When both my parents started working for the charity I was inspired by the work they were doing. We were made aware that wasn’t the claim for all children although my brothers and I were really lucky to truly have a youth that is wonderful.

Understanding that, was what motivated me to need to help in just about any manner I could.”

Chris said a vital element to helping the children is letting them know the “mistreatment wasn’t their fault and there was nothing they could’ve done to prevent it.

“Unfortunately, abused children so often carry the shame and remorse with them that we try and teach them the need for letting go,” he said. “Building an environment where children feel safe and cared for enables them to trust in themselves as well as the world around them again.”

The work has hit Chris bit since becoming a father himself.

As for what the victor should expect in the big premier, Chris says, “Get a lot of rest.
