Pakistani social media ace Qandeel Baloch’s dad said his son, who killed the model-cum-celebrity for honour, should be “shot on sight”. “I say he should be shot on sight. He suffocated my little one,” Baloch’s father Anwar Azeem said.

Based on the News International report on Friday, Baloch’s parents expressed their pain by their younger son Waseem, who killed her for images and daring posts on social media websites at the murder of the daughter.

“We were drugged, asleep upstairs. She must have called out to us,” Azeem said.

Baloch’s mother said she used to share all her secrets with her. “We were mother and daughter, sharing all our sorrows and secrets. She used to tell me ‘Your daughter is working hard, she’ll go far’,” she said.

Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) plans to pass long-delayed legislation against “honor killings” within weeks in the wake of the high-profile murder of an outspoken social media star, the daughter of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Wednesday.

The bill will proceed before a parliamentary committee said Maryam Nawaz Sharif, who’s an increasingly powerful person in her dad’s ruling party.

The law would remove a loophole that enables a killer to be pardoned by other members of the family.

Some 500 women are killed annually in Pakistan over sensed damage to “honour” that can include eloping, fraternizing with guys or another infraction against conservative principles that regulate girls’s modesty.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif said the authorities had been negotiating with religious parties in parliament and needed to pass the law.

“We have finalised the draft law in the light of negotiations,” she told Reuters in an interview. “The final draft will be presented to a committee of joint session of parliament on July 21 for consideration and approval.”

A spokesman for Jamaat e Islami, among the two leading religious parties in parliament, said his party wouldn’t oppose the bill.

Pakistan’s other principal religious political party, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, cannot be reached for comment but it’s just a few seats in parliament.

Laws empowering girls have been opposed by both religious parties.

The upper house of parliament passed the bill but it lapsed after the authorities did not put it up because it was preoccupied with laws directed at handling economical reforms and security issues.

A senior government official told Reuters the bill was being now backed by all major parties and it was not unlikely to be passed in several weeks by a combined session of parliament.

“The prime minister is taking personal interest,” added a second official and close aide to Sharif. “You will see in coming days more will be done, big changes will be announced.”

In a rare move the authorities became a complainant in law enforcement case against Baloch’s brother accused of her murder, blocking her family and thus designating it a crime against the state.

The slain social media sensation Qandeel Baloch’s mother alleged that well-known scholar Mufti Abdul Qavi, who’d appeared in headlines for a controversial video and selfies with Qandeel Baloch, provoked her son into murdering her daughter.

She further disclosed that, their neighbors had spotted a skeptical unfamiliar man who had a beard outside Qandeel’s residence at the point when Qandeel was murdered. The mom of Qandeel disclosed that neighbors had informed her that the suspicious bearded individual went inside the house of Qandeel after sometime.

Ahead, the leading cleric Mufti Qavi was suspended from the Ruet-i-Hilal Committee as well as the National Ulema Mushaikh Council of Pakistan after viral was gone by the pictures with the model.

Appears like a friend or a fan has hacked into the account and made the upgrade lest the posts gets bombarded with hateful remarks. Qandeel’s Instagram which has 127 thousand followers, now has zero posts. We trust the researchers are looking into the hacking too.

Waseem drugged her and strangled her in her slumber. The rationale said by him was that he felt Baloch brought disrespect to the family’s name by bill videos and pics. He said, “There are other issues as well… Like the maulvi issue,” Waseem said, referring to a recent controversy surrounding Baloch’s selfies with Mufti Qavi. “I gave her a tablet and then strangled her.” he added.

Father of Qandeel Baloch has spoken out in support of his daughter, after her brother killed her, Pakistani media report.

The contentious social media star was buried on Sunday.

Ms Baloch, 26, whose actual name was Fauzia Azeem, attained notoriety for posting vocal pictures, opinions and videos or indicative . She recently caused controversy by posting images of herself.

Her departure has triggered a debate over “honour killings” and what’s appropriate behavior online for girls in Pakistan.

Her 25-year old brother Waseem admitted to the homicide and was detained.

He said he determined to kill her after she uploaded pictures of her modeling with the Muslim cleric, which were broadly shared online.

Ms Baloch’s funeral was held near her family house from Multan in Dera Ghazi Khan, about 130km. Media reports said thousands of people including rights campaigners.

Ms Baloch’s parents lodged a report with police accusing her brother of killing her, of being complicit and another brother, in accordance with Dawn.

He said his sons were sad over “her accomplishments” and turned against her even though she supported them, the paper included.

The killing was condemned by the residents of her village.

It was reported that the model/performer was supposed to be part of Bigg Boss season 10. Qandeel had tweeted that she was scared and that she desired to leave the country.
