There’s a powerful buzz going on that Parineeti Chopra or Alia Bhatt are likely to step in the Sadma remake into Sridevi’s role. Earlier, Kareena Kapoor Khan was approached for the role, but she turned it down. In fact, there were rumours of the remake as the makers didn’t believe anybody besides Kareena among the Gen Next celebrities could do justice to the character being shelved. Nevertheless, now there’s talk not only of the movie being made with Alia or Parineeti, but also that look tests will be done shortly. Ain’t that cool?
For those who don’t understand, the original Sadma starred Sridevi and Kamal Haasan. Folks put her and take advantage of her. However, a young man (Kamal Haasan) saves her. He falls for her while looking after her. Sadma was itself a remake of a Tamil Film – Moondram Pirai. Sridevi’s autistic child- girl performance was one of her best and people commended her act. The truth is, she won quite a few awards. So now you know why the makers wanted an extremely gifted celebrity to take up this role. Alia and Parineeti have proved their ability overly in recent times, while Kareena would be an apt choice coz of her absolute ability.
