Taiwan’s navy has incorrectly launched a supersonic anti-ship missile from its naval base that was Kaohsiung, say officials.

It does not cause any injuries, and landed in waters in the direction of mainland China.

The event comes as China celebrates the 95th anniversary of the foundation of the Chinese Communist Party.

When asked by reporters if the incident would affect relations with Beijing, Vice Admiral Mei Chia-hsu said it had been reported by the navy to the defence ministry of the island.

It was not clear whether Beijing were notified.

China considers Taiwan a breakaway state, to be reunited with the mainland, by force if needed.

It’s hundreds of missile pointed towards the isle in any respect times.

Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen, who’s also head of the military, is currently overseas.
