The CTD staff on Sunday morning killed four alleged terrorists, while explosives and weapons were recovered from their defendants’ possession during raid in Manawan place in Lahore.
According to CTD sources, the terrorists were involved in 2008 Moon Market suicide explosion and the attack on Sri Lankan cricket team attack in 2009.
The bodies were transferred to local hospital for medico legal formalities. The attackers were identified as Adnan Arshad, Abdul Wahab, as Zubair and Ateeq-ur-Rehman.
The officials failed to identify their armed group or the militants. The assault on the cricket team injure six cricket players, and killed six police and two bystanders.
The Pakistani Taliban and Lashkar e Jhangvi, an associated extremist group, claimed the strike, that has been completed by 10 gunmen.
A counterterrorism official says when other gunmen attempted to break the militants out of police detention the shootout erupted on the border of Lahore. The report was confirmed by another senior official.
