Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough hit the dirty dancing lift

Derek Hough and Bindi Irwin accomplished the near impossible making use of their Dirty Dancing number on Dancing With the Stars. The pair received perfect 10 s across the board from judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Julianne Hough, Bruno Tonioli and guest judge Olivia Newton-John when they nailed the iconic lift. Bindi said doing the lift required a balance of trust for both of them. “We’re so excited. It feels so good ‘cause now we can say we’ve done it and we can move forward and nothing else will be that scary,” she gushed.

“To replicate that iconic scene and be able to have that set there and the whole feeling of it…it was pretty fun it was pretty great,” Derek said.

And later, Bindi only had one thing on her head.

“I said to Derek after we did the lift, ‘The rest of the routine is great, but let’s just lay down,'” she said.
