A 17-year-old female cricketer reportedly committed suicide late Monday night, some 13 months after she and four other cricketers levelled harassment charges against top officials of the Multan Cricket Club.
Haleema Rafiq, a resident of Multan and a quick-bowler on the national girls’s cricket team, drank acid lost consciousness and used to sterilise toilets. She was taken to Nishtar Hospital.
At exactly the same time, the authorities said they’d be an applicant in a case if needed to run a postmortem.
Over last year, five other female cricketers and Haleema accused officials of the Multan Cricket Club of sexual harassment. female claims that they force them for sexual relationships in return of selection.
