The Twitterverse had some words to share earlier today after Rita Ora allegedly told The Sun that she’s considering rounding up some fellow pop star gal-buddies for a remake of Labelle’s 1975 soul classic “Lady Marmalade.”
“I’m trying to round up the troops,” Ora told The Sun, per Billboard.com. “I think it would be me, Miley Cyrus, Charli XCX—she’d be fun—and Iggy.”
Well, it appears that the people on social media were not the only ones who were not a supporter of this idea.
Iggy quite bluntly described to her followers (and individuals who criticized the idea) that she doesn’t wish to have anything to do with Ora’s idea:
Please leave me out of the whole Lady Marmalade conversation. I have nothing to do with ritas ideas & agree it should be left alone. Thanks.
Azalea’s “Black Widow” partner hasn’t reacted to Iggy’s tweet, and neither Miley nor Charli have addressed the potential musical collaboration.
It’s not an outlandish thought. All things considered, Moulin Rouge enthusiasts realize that the iconic hit was remade back in 2001 featuring Lil’ Kim, Christina Aguilera, Pink and Mya. But it appears like it’s not so much the remaking of the tune that has individuals feeling some sort of way–it is the folks involved.
Tweeters responded to Rita’s idea with their own picks for the “Lady Marmalade” lineup, throwing out names like Demi Lovato, Beyonce, Nicki Minaj Tinashe, Ariana Grande, Rihanna and, Lady Gaga.
