National conference on social sciences held by AIOU today

Islamabad–Allama Iqbal Open University will hold a two-day national conference on social sciences here on Wednesday at its main campus.

The summit to be attended by senior academicians and social scientists from all over the state will cover wide-ranging topics of different areas to help understand complex societal issues.

This is really a part of the University’s continuing efforts to promote innovative and research-based study on socio-economic problems, said Vice Chancellor Dr. Shahid Siddiqui.

The University wished to play a proactive role in encouraging implemented and meaningful research through academic pursuits. Such research activities are also directed promoting professional development in the important fields and achieving superiority, he added.

By highlighting their increasing relevance in the context of today the coming seminar will highlight the significance of the social sciences.
