Newt Gingrich has accused TV anchorman Megyn Kelly of being “fascinated” with sex and never caring about public policy in a weird live interview.

The Republican maintained she showed “prejudice” for mentioning the groping allegations against Donald Trump.

Ms Kelly retorted she wasn’t fascinated by sex but by who was going to maintain the White House.

The Fox News journalist has previously angered Mr Trump for questioning his attitude towards girls.

The former Speaker of the House maintained the media was spending a disproportionate amount of time on the accusations.

“You are fascinated with sex and you do not care about public policy,” he told the bemused anchorman.
Ms Kelly answered: “You understand what Mr Speaker, I am not fascinated by sex, but I am fascinated by the protection of women and comprehending what we are getting in the Oval Office and I think the American voters would like to understand.”

Mr Gingrich went to ask why the media was not subjecting the claims against Bill Clinton to precisely the same amount of examination – and goaded the presenter to call Mr Clinton a “sexual predator” on air.

But Ms Kelly pointed out it was not . Even so, she asserted the Kelly File had given an entire programme.
