OPSS!! Donald Trump’s Hollywood star smashed allegedly over sexual assault claims

A guy with the axe ruined Donald Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in a video demonstration over sexual misconduct allegations dogging the Republican presidential nominee. The protester, dressed in city construction worker overalls, can be seen on footage posted to YouTube and some other sites hacking away the gold lettering and camera logo from the tribute. Giving his name as James Otis, he calmly explains he’s “awfully disturbed” with 70-year old Trump, who vigorously denies claims by almost a dozen girls that he groped or was aggressive toward them.

“Four of my family members were attacked,” he says in the video, an amateur clip which seemed to show at least one professional crew filming the incident. The man told a local news agency he had originally meant to remove the whole star from the pavement on Hollywood Boulevard.

He said he would auction it and give the proceeds to Trump’s alleged casualties — every single one of whom the property tycoon has vowed to sue after the November 8 election — but was unable to lift the slab. It was hardly easy. He added that he intended to surrender to authorities, either today or tomorrow, but was still working out arrangements with his solicitor.

There was no immediate response from Trump, but the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which gives the honors, said the star would be fixed in the coming days and would stay covered in the meantime.

“ When folks are unhappy with one of our honorees, we might expect that they’d project their anger in ways that were more positive than to vandalize a California state landmark,” chamber head Leron Gubler said. That is not the first-time Trump’s Walk of Fame star has been targeted.

In July, a Los Angeles road artist assembled a tiny wall of wooden planks topped with barbed wire in protest at Trump’s campaign vow to build a wall on the Mexican border. This past year, excrement was left on the star and someone drew a big yellowish X over it.
