Speaking to India.com in a interview, Kajol, who’s gearing up for her picture Dilwale, has supported Anushka’s statement confessing to the truth that there’s discrimination in the film industry.
Speaking to India.com in a interview, the 41-year old star said, “There is no denying that there is a pay-gap issue in Bollywood. I believe it has a lot to do with the economics of the industry. I also believe that the blame should squarely fall on the society. There is deep-rooted gender-inequality in our society. We need to first recognize that and come up with a way to bridge that gap before coming up with ways of ensuring equal pay standards for men and women.”
Like her other costars, the performer is leaving no stone unturned to market the picture. Dilwale brings back Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan about the celluloid following a difference of five years. The film, which likewise stars Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon is set to release alongside Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani on December 18. On being asked about what her take is to the box office battle involving both large budget films, she said, “I don’t believe in the rat-race at all. I believe there is more than enough for everybody to go around. And God willing, if they are good films, both Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani will do well.”
