Previously, the New Girl celebrity has declined to identify with any particular faith. “I do not attach myself to any one religion,” Deschanel, whose mom is Roman Catholic and father is Quaker, has said. And Deschanel’s new life continues to be divine. Adds a source near the couple, “they are loving the baby and union!”

The Driftless Area star and her husband welcomed their very first child in July. The brand new mom explained her daughter’s name, Elsie Otter, in a interview about the Today show last month. “We only really liked the name Elsie and then we both love otters, they’re quite sweet and they’re also bright,” she shared.

“They use tools…they hold hands while they sleep… They are amazing animals.”
