Celebrity Keo Woolford, famous for appearing in the Hawaii Five-0 remake as Detective James Chang, has died in the age of 49.
He died at a hospital in Hawaii on Monday, three days after suffering a stroke, his publicist said.
He also composed, directed and produced the award winning The Haumana to 2013 independent film.
Woolford received a special jury prize for best first feature for The Haumana in the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival.
Auditions were set to start in January and he’d just finished the script to get a sequel, publicist Tracy Larrua said.
He also had small parts in movies including the 2014 remake of Godzilla Falling for Grace and Happy, Texas.
However he was best known for playing with Detective James Chang in the remake of Hawaii Five – 0, which started in 2010.
Woolford’s costars from law enforcement play led homage on Twitter.
