Rome- A 122.4-metre-long baguette was baked and served to visitors at Milan’s EXPO world fair, an effort officially recognised as a Guinness World Record.

A 27-powerful team of French and Italian bakers, such as the head of the Paris chamber of bakers and patissiers, worked together on Sunday to prepare the record breaking bread loaf, which took six hours to bake, EXPO said in a statement.

The baguette distributed to visitors and was afterwards filled with hazelnut spread.

The previous record for the longest baguette of the world was 111 metres. It was prepared in a supermarket in Vietnam six years ago.
